NKOTB Without the Right Stuff

Um, what exactly is going on with New Kids on the Block? Someone please explain to me why a boy band that has not been on the scene in over a decade has a video on VH1 and is planning an international tour. I saw the new video for Summertime the other day and I have to say I found it quite comedic. I don't think that's what they were going for but I had to laugh...hard! I'm old enough to remember NKOTB from the first time around. I was never a big fan but I do remember attending a slumber party in which one girl had an NKOTB sleeping bag. LOL! I thought they were cheesy even back then. I just never got on board but there is no doubt that they were hot back in 1988 and they led the way for other boy band groups such as N'SYNC and Backstreet Boys. This reuniting by NKOTB is a sign of the apocalypse for sure! Allow me to break down the video for you peeps. It's quite flashy at the beginning. It looks like the er, Kids are all grown up, complete with fancy cars and high-tech gadgets! Then the viewer is introduced to each member as their names are proudly displayed. You know you've aged when your video must show your names so that your fans will recognize you. Then they start sashaying on the beach with a girl for each one, ultimately ending up at a party with plenty of chicks who were most likely embryos when NKOTB was sitting pretty on the top of the charts back in the day. I just don't get it. The 35-40 age box is not working out for them. The dancing is lethargic at best. Probably the first real workout they've had in a few years, bless their hearts! Also, the choreography and white outfits were taken directly from the Backstreet Boys video, I Want It That Way. Please oh please tell me why are NKOTB doing this? Anyway, I'll leave it up to ya'll to decide. Watch the video and judge for your self. Click here to see the new Summertime video as well as videos from old school NKOTB. Hang tough!

Madonna Mail

Yesterday, I received the greatest piece of mail ever; Madonna tickets have arrived! I think the picture says it all. They're here! We are officially on our way to seeing Madonna in the flesh. Those tickets were just the thing to brighten up a dull Monday. T-minus 5 months, 12 days and counting...

This is Love

After seeing the movie Sex and the City, I blogged about it and my husband, being the sweet person he is, read my blog and noticed I mentioned wanting the soundtrack. On his way home from work today, he bought it for me. It's the little things peeps! To go with my new album he brought me a box of Godiva chocolates. My man is good to me. He's thoughtful and caring and I couldn't ask for more. Buying a girly soundtrack was nice. I'm enjoying it right now as I write this post. My favs are Labels or Love, Dressed in Love, The Heart of the Matter and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. I already love this soundtrack just as much as the movie. Thanks baby. Love you!

Sleep v Blog

I haven't posted in over a week now and I'm sure you're all mandybomb deprived. :) I actually did something last week that I do very seldom; sleep. I love sleeping but I hate going to bed. According to my parents, this has been a problem ever since I was a kid. I've been sleep deprived my entire life and last week for some reason, it just caught up with me. I went to bed at 8:30 every night and missed my normal TV repertoire. Fortunately, I don't think too much happened and at least now I'm functioning normally again. Sleep won last week's round but I think blogging will have a strong finish this week. Stay tuned!
