Johnny Depp Transforms the MTV Movie Awards

The MTV Movie Awards is more entertaining than the Oscars. Plus, most of the movies nominated for various categories are ones I've actually seen. In case you missed it, here's the list of winners:

Best Female Performance: Ellen Page-Juno
Best Male Performance: Will Smith-I Am Legend
Best Fight: Sean Faris v Cam Gigandet-Never Back Down
Best Comic Performance: Johnny Depp-Pirates of the Caribean: At World's End
Breakthrough Performance: Zac Efron-Hairspray
Best Villain: Johnny Depp-Sweeney Todd
Best Kiss: Brian Evigan and Robert Hoffman-Step Up 2 the Streets
Best Summer Movie So Far: Iron Man
Best Movie: Transformers

Mike Myers hosted and his funniest bit during the show was a Wayne's World skit in which Dana Carvey actually made an appearance. During the entire show, the camera focused on Rhianna and Chris Brown for a reaction after each award. I was beginning to think they were the only celebrities in the entire crowd. I really don't know what was up with that. There was a commercial featuring Speidi for what looked like a new music video show on MTV debuting June 13th. I couldn't find any links to the show on the MTV website but did find this. F'N MTV, wink wink. Oh MTV, you make me laugh! :)

Carried Away by Sex and the City

I loved, loved, loved this movie! I've been a fan of Sex and the City for years and it was even the topic of a college paper (I got an A btw). Everything that made the show fabulous was in the movie. Lots of fashion, drama, tears, laughs and sex (of course).

A friend and I saw the movie at an afternoon matinee and the theater was packed. We had to sit in the front row and I'm quite sure both of us will need to visit a chiropractor this week from the strain on our necks. The movie was totally worth it though; really perfect!

Sex and the City is one of my all time favorite shows; I think I've see every episode no less than 100 times. I could always find something in Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda that I could relate to. This movie really did justice to the series and I was actually sorry when the it was over. I'll go so far as to say this is the best movie I've seen all year. Well worth all the hype.

I thought I knew how I wanted Carrie and Big's relationship to end up before I saw the movie but during I changed my mind and I'm glad for the way the writer's wrapped it all up. The soundtrack was fantastic too. Definitely my next iTunes purchase. If you're a fan of the series, I think you'll fall in love with this movie. A must see!

MADONNA TICKETS ARE SWEET!!!!

At approximately 10:05am yesterday, my husband and I had a religious experience. Well, about as close as you can come to a religious experience in the pop music world anyway. WE GOT TICKETS TO SEE MADONNA!! That's right peeps, we're going to see Madonna on November 24 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta for her Sticky and Sweet Tour. We had our computers synchronized to the Ticketmaster website and when tickets went on sale at 10am, we were on it. My husband ultimately swiped the better seats and made the purchase. Our seats? We're gonna be in section 102! (Please see the diagram for reference) After we finished high-fiving our victory, we made hotel reservations and then spent the rest of the day reveling in our golden ticket purchase.

Now I can hardly begin to describe how excited I am about this. I believe Madonna is one of the greatest performers of our generation and I'm super thrilled to see her in concert. This is going to be like my version of Woodstock except sexier and without all that hippy nonsense. Ah yes, I can already imagine the fantastic party conversations I'll have! "Well when I saw Madonna..." I personally don't know anyone who has been to a Madonna concert so I'm sure all my friends will be psyched to hear all the details. ;)

The only thing that will make this concert better is a cameo appearance by JT. I can only hope that he's worked out a deal with Her Madgesty and will stop by to sing 4 Minutes with her. Regardless, I'm sure it's going to be amazing! Madonna is the like the queen of all pop music and her performances are always legendary perfection.

I am really excited about this concert! It's going to be hard to wait until November. Time goes by so slowly!
