Missing Lost

I did not watch Lost tonight so I'll have to wait to do a recap this weekend. But since I'm up way past my bedtime anyway, I thought I should post a video in honor of my favorite Lost character. Enjoy!

Iron Man and Speed Racer

Last weekend, my husband and I saw Iron Man. Monday night,we decided to catch Speed Racer. I enjoyed Iron Man a bit more than Speed Racer mainly because it felt a more sophisticated. Starting with Iron Man, I'll admit I've never read the comic but I thought the movie was great. I do enjoy a good action flick. I was a little leery of Robert Downey, Jr. in the lead role. I thought he'd been sentenced to eternal rehab but he was very convincing. I personally don't consider him a mega star so it was easy to forget the actor and just focus on the character. I won't give away any spoilers but I have to say I would love to have access to the kind of technology Tony Stark used in the movie. There's just something about the concept of a computer with which you can converse that's always fascinated me. Also, viewers may enjoy Iron Man kickin' a little terrorist a**!

As I mentioned, Speed Racer was a more juvenile film but still very enjoyable. The graphics were cool and the movie blended retro style with CGI and futuristic scenes. I thought there could have been more actual racing instead of all the drama and the little brother and his monkey got on my nerves with all their screen time. Still, my husband assures me that the Wachowski Brothers stuck to the features of the original cartoon and that's good enough for me. Plus, I was glad to support Matthew Fox in his budding film career. I've been watching him since his Party of Five days and he's doing great! Anyway, Iron Man and Speed Racer are a great way to kick off the summer moviefest.

The Hills Finale

Spoiler Alert!

I watched the season finale of The Hills last night, although it wasn't quite as dramatic as I'd hoped. Lauren confronted Audrina about their growing separation and shed two tears, which actually made the show seem more realistic. Audrina explained that she felt Lo was causing the separation but Lauren stood up for Lo. Lauren did mention to Whitney during the episode that she and Audrina only have their roommate status as a bonding factor. Stephanie spilled the beans to Spencer about Heidi's whereabouts and they immediately took off for Vegas. I feel the biggest news from last night's episode was Heidi ditching the project manager job in Vegas to go home with Spencer. She was really upset with him when he surprised her at the casino, where it looked like she was closing the deal with her bosses. I thought for sure he would be going home alone. Heidi left Brent hanging and bolted with Spencer and Stephanie back to CA. The previews for The Hills Season 4 shows the conflict among Lauren, Audrina and Lo continuing and it looks like maybe Audrina is no longer a doormat. Heidi and Spencer continue to reign as the antagonistic couple and Lauren might be going steady with a boy. Season 4 begins in August!

Rolling Stone does The Hills

Photo: Rolling Stone
You may have already seen the Rolling Stone May issue with The Hills stars Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Whitney Port featured on the cover. The cover story online exerpt showcases Heidi's POV and MTV's success with the reality show. According to Rolling Stone, the big deal about this photo shoot is that it's the first time in over a year that Lauren and Heidi have been photographed together and not Photoshopped. RS Deputy Editor Jason Gay wrote the article and was on the set for the shoot. He phoned in during the last Hills aftershow and said that Lauren and Heidi were on set for about 8 hours and never spoke to each other. I would imagine in this case that silence is golden.

Head for The Hills

Tonight is the season finale of The Hills, MTV's most popular show. I'll definitely be on the couch watching. The girls from The Hills have been through a lot this season. Speidi remained in relationship limbo, Stephen Colletti (and yes I've been told that it's sad that I actually know his last name) made a cameo appearance, and Audrina and Justin Bobby are back together? Recently, Lo, Lauren and Audrina moved in together and Audrina was immediately banished to the guest house. Lauren and Whitney have left Teen Vogue and are working at People's Revolution together. Lauren and Stephanie Pratt have become fast friends but I think they are really frienemies. Tonight's episode however, promises to focus on the mounting tension between Lauren, Audrina and Lo. I'm sure plenty of drama will ensue.
